About Me

I'm Zach Cutler, a software developer with over 10 years of professional experience building applications across the web, mobile, and data tiers. I'm passionate about writing clean, maintainable code and sharing what I learn along the way.

What I Do

My primary focus is web development, where I've built everything from enterprise line-of-business applications to public-facing products. I'm equally comfortable on the backend designing APIs and data models as I am on the frontend crafting responsive, interactive user experiences.

Web Development

This is where I spend most of my time. I've worked extensively with:

  • ASP.NET & ASP.NET Core — My bread and butter on the server side. Building RESTful APIs, MVC applications, and backend services in C#.
  • Angular — Large-scale single-page applications with TypeScript, RxJS, and the full Angular ecosystem.
  • React — Component-driven UIs, hooks, and the modern React stack.
  • Blazor — Bringing C# to the browser. I've worked with both Blazor Server and Blazor WebAssembly.

Mobile Development

I've shipped apps on iOS and built cross-platform mobile solutions:

  • iOS (Objective-C & Swift) — Native iOS development from the ground up.
  • Xamarin — Cross-platform mobile apps sharing C# code across iOS and Android.
  • .NET MAUI — The evolution of Xamarin, building modern cross-platform apps with .NET.

Data & Databases

A strong data layer is the foundation of any good application:

  • T-SQL & SQL Server — Complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and database design.
  • Entity Framework / EF Core — ORM-based data access in .NET applications.

This Blog

This site is where I write about things I discover, projects I'm working on, and knowledge I think is worth sharing. Expect posts about:

  • Discoveries — New tools, libraries, patterns, or techniques I've stumbled on.
  • Recent Projects — Walkthroughs and retrospectives on things I've built.
  • Knowledge Sharing — Tips, gotchas, and PSAs for fellow developers.

If any of that sounds interesting, check out the blog or connect with me on GitHub or LinkedIn.
